Your privacy is important to Bennett’s (Scotland) Limited. Set out below is our information Privacy Policy. Should you be unsure of any aspect, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Collection and Use of Personal Information

You will not be asked to provide your personal information every time you are in contact with Bennett’s (Scotland) Limited but we may share this personal information with your insurer. Under no circumstances will your personal data be shared or sold to a third party without your prior consent with the exception of The Scottish Court Service and Sheriff Officers should you fail to make payment of an outstanding account. You are not required to provide the personal information that we have requested, but, if you chose not to do so, in many cases we will not be able to provide you with our products or services or respond to any queries you may have.

Here are some examples of the types of personal information Bennett’s (Scotland) Limited may collect and how we may use it:

1. When you come in for an estimate, contact us with questions relating to the repair of your vehicle or send us an enquiry via our website
2. We will collect a variety of information, including your name, home address, phone number, email address and credit/debit card information (this information is only requested when an excess, VAT and/or full repair bill is due - we do not store this information other than what is printed on the vendor receipt).

How we use your personal information

1. The personal information we collect allows us to keep you up to date with the repair progress of your vehicle.
2. We also use personal information to help us develop, operate, deliver, and improve our services, content and advertising
3. We may use your personal information to verify your identity when you contact us
4. From time to time, we may use your personal information to send important notices, such as communications about your vehicle and arranging any outstanding balances to be paid
5. We may also use personal information for internal purposes such as auditing, data analysis, and research to improve our products, services, and customer communications.

Collection and Use of Non-Personal Information

Bennett’s (Scotland) Limited also collect data in a form that does not, on its own, permit direct association with any specific individual. We may collect, use, transfer, and disclose non-personal information for any purpose. The following are some examples of non-personal information that we collect and how we may use it:

1. We may collect information such as occupation, post code, unique device identifier, referrer and location so that we can better understand customer behaviour and improve our products and services
2. We may collect and store details of how you use our services. This information may be used to improve the quality of the services that we offer

If we do combine non-personal information with personal information the combined information will be treated as personal information for as long as it remains combined.

We do not use cookies or another other technologies such as pixel tags or web beacons.

Bennett’s (Scotland) Limited takes the security of your personal information very seriously. When your personal data is stored by us, we use computer systems with limited access housed in facilities using physical security measures.

Integrity and Retention of Personal Information

Bennett’s (Scotland) Limited can be contacted during office hours to keep your personal information accurate, complete, and up to date. We will retain your personal information for the period necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

Access to Personal Information

You can help ensure that your contact information and preferences are accurate, complete, and up to date by contacting your repairing centre. For other personal information we hold, we will provide you with access for any purpose including requesting that we correct the data if it is inaccurate or delete the data if Bennett’s (Scotland) Limited is not required to retain it by law or for legitimate business purposes.

We may decline to process requests that are frivolous/vexatious, jeopardise the privacy of others, are extremely impractical, or for which access is not otherwise required by local law. Access, correction, or deletion requests can be made by contacting your relevant repair centre.
